Welcome to Dacantus

Dacantus is a small venue, with a long bar on one side, and 7 “high” tables/chairs, 5 of those on the right hand side and 2 at the left hand side. The toilets are located in the basement.

Due to our size, we are only able to take bookings for those wishing to dine with us. We are able to accommodate larger groups upon request, but on a Friday and Saturday we are not able to accommodate groups of more than 14 people. We are not able to book tables for those wishing to drink only.

We have a special lunchtime 2/3 course (£12/£15) menu available as well as our regular a la carte menu which is available from 12 noon until late 7 days a week.

For those with mobility issues, we have regular “low” dining tables and chairs for your use. Please let a member of staff know on arrival if the high chairs are not suitable so that we may make appropriate changes for you. We have a disabled toilet available for those who cannot manage the stairs down to the toilets.

Gins are served as doubles and prices ranged from around £6 to £10 - I didn't think this was unreasonable given the quality of the ingredients. Will definitely go back to sample more!

  • Been to Decantus about 5 times. Loved it on each occasion. The choice of gin is extensive and I've loved trying different ones. There are various different strawberry ones which are my favourites. They serve them in big goblets which is cool and you get a delicious little tapas dish with each order
